I

The concept of 'I', 'Me' always distinct from the world. This separation, between self and 'I', a behind the eyes who looks out at the rest of the world. I forget where this prattle goes. To make a statement of the concept of a 'me' perhaps.

But who is 'I'? This collection of calcium, water, various proteins all held together in a nice pliable bag? The collection of mushy stuff that is your brain or is it this intangible, unobservable soul? Whatever the answer, unless it is the intangible soul it isn't immortal.

Sliding into morality, an atheist, (with empathy and humanistic leanings) would conclude that they should be the most moral. There is only one shot at life, and a horrific amount of people have this one shot at a 'normal' life ruined. The next question would be what is a normal life, but at the end of it the ideal is to ensue that people are able to lives relatively free from fear of violence and crime. peaceful lives if you will, without dying from simple denial of access to medicine or potable water.

How we in developed countries ignore this basically demonstrates the sheer amount of apathy we can conjure up for the developing nations. One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic.
